Eoin Morgan lifted the ODI World Cup in 2019 and fulfilled the English dream. Although he won’t be there to defend the title for England, the former skipper believes the team he captained once will trail India in the 2023 edition.
In a recent interview, the ex-captain positioned Rohit Sharma-led team India as the World Cup favourites. And, Morgan believes that because of the home advantage for the Indian team.
“England is an exceptionally strong team, and I would consider them as the second most likely to win, with India holding the top spot, particularly when playing on their home turf”, Morgan said in his statement.
Apart from the ex English captain, many others – from former cricketers to experts, cricket betting enthusiasts, and fans across the world – predict India to lift the ODI World Cup 2023.
On the other hand, legendary Indian spinner R Ashwin made a bold claim by stating that people picking India as favourites is putting extra pressure on the team.
